“HO, HO, HONEY BOO BOO CHRISTMAS”
It’s Christmas season in the Honey Boo Boo house, and it wouldn’t be Christmas without the family getting together to decorate the house inside and outside. Alana had some extra help from local volunteers because they weren’t just decorating for the holiday. They were also decorating for the family’s annual toy and donation drive that Mama June organizes at their home every year. Last year, the family raised enough toys, cash, and food to help 108 families have a wonderful Christmas. This year Mama June set her goal even higher and hopes to raise at least $10,000 in toys and donations.
It wouldn’t be the crazy family we all know and love if there wasn’t any bumps and laughs along the way. We start off with the gang pulling all their decorations out when Sugar Bear stumbles upon a broken light up tree which he sends with Chubbs to ask Mama if its OK to throw out.
“Mama doesn’t throw anything away, she’s one of those hoarders” Alana
Mama June insists the tree can be fixed and breaks out the duct tape (the quick fix for just about anything), and makes the tree good as new. She calls her new creation the “leaning tree of pisa”, and to her it’s perfect!
“Ta-dow it’s perfect” Mama June
The outside is all finished and decorated so Alana and the family go inside to start decorating their white Christmas tree. Sugar bear sits alone on the living room floor trying to put the tree together when June walks into the room, and he suggest she sit on the floor with him to help. June feels she would be of better service to Sugar Bear if she sat on the couch because he wouldn’t even be able to help get her back up off the floor. After the tree is finally put together the girls get to come in and hang all the Christmas balls on the tree,
but first they have to retrieve them from…under mama’s butt??? Mama digs them out from underneath her rear end and hands them over. After all the decorations are on the tree Sugar Bear goes to find the star to top it, but while he is gone Alana has a better idea. With the help of the girl’s, Alana places her pet chicken, Nugget, on top of the tree. What happens next? Nugget flaps off the tree, and it topples over making the girl’s jump into action to clean up before Sugar Bear comes back with the real star. The tree is back in order just in time as Sugar walks back in with the star and to place on top of their Christmas tree.
“It is what it is when you let kids decorate. There is bound to be disaster!” Mama June
It is now time to get ready for the charity event which actually goes on for seven days, and this is the beginning of night one. Mama dresses up as Mrs. Claus, Sugar Bear as Santa, and Alana dresses as one of Santa’s many little helpers, Elvis the Elf. It is very clear that this charity means a lot to Mama, and she takes it very
seriously. She explains that she loves giving back to her community because there was a time in her life that someone special helped her when she was not going to have a Christmas for her girls. It is very important to her to give back and make sure no other families and children have to wake up on Christmas morning with nothing. June may be a little rough around the edges, and maybe she doesn’t live her life the way that “society” expects, but when June is passionate about helping other’s in need. She goes all out to support the families in need, and that is exactly what she did for this event. Way to go, Mama June! The event starts, and “Mrs. Claus” thanks everyone for coming as they walk up to “Santa” to say Merry Christmas. Visitors drop off their donations of toys, food, and even money. “Elvis the elf” helps by showing the people the designated boxes for the various items. Night one is nearing the end and Mama goes up to Sugar Bear and says she is getting a little chilly. Sugar Bear tells her to warm up by sitting on his lap. It wouldn’t be a Sugar Bear moment if his alter ego “Frisky McBrisky” didn’t show up to comment!
“I hope Mrs. Claus makes it to the “North Pole” tonight!” Sugar Bear
Thanks again for that image, Frisky!
Charity night 1 total: $1,183.16!
Next up, Sugar Bear is setting June up for a mistletoe attack, and is hanging mistletoe everywhere he can think of to make sure he can get as much “sugar” as possible! He thinks of all the places he knows June always go to, for example in the fridge. Alana helps by trying to guide Mama to the exact location, and Sugar Bear jumps out from hiding to land smooch after smooch on June! Mama is too slick, and escapes successfully to go hide in the bathroom. Sugar Bear knows that the mistletoe attack will be successful as has much hope to land more kisses on his Mrs. Claus.
“Mama is slippery like a little piggy covered in mud” Alana
The family now goes Christmas shopping at a local flea market, Smiley’s, to find the best deals and teach the girl’s the value of a dollar! Mama gives them each $10 to spend on a family member. Pumpkin who enjoys making jokes at Mama June’s expense finds a plaque with a pig face plaque that she says looks just like Mama. June takes the dig and says that it looks more like Pumpkin. Alana is trying to find the present for Sugar Bear, and finds zebra figurines but Mama doesn’t think he would be able to use them, so Alana keeps on looking. Pumpkin finds a bin that in full of used underwear (umm ew??) and wants to buy them. Mama tells her you never buy used panties at a flea market. Great advice as always Mama!!! Alana finally finds the deal of a life time and buys two wig heads that are 2 for $3 and since Sugar Bear loves to run his fingers through Mama’s hair this would make the perfect gift for him, and she gets to keep one for herself.
“Now that’s a good deal! Bag them up!”
It’s been a day or two since the family went shopping, and Mama feels like everyone needs a good day out of the house, so everyone gets all bundled up to go ice skating. They go to Ice Days at the Old Conyers Pavilion in Conyers, GA. Even though the kids are excited they are also a little nervous that they will bust their butts on the ice. Alana is even more nervous since she is the daredevil of the family.
“Alana was pretty apprehensum. She was pretty skeptical the first time but once she got onto the ice I couldn’t get her off.” Mama June
During the interview session Mama gives Chubbs a hysterical vocabulary lesson……….
Chubbs: What’s asptamentical?
Mama June: Obstamistical is when you don’t want to go out, and try but then you see everyone else doing it and figure you should go out and try.
Thanks for the lesson, Mama!!!
The family decides that Anna was the best skater as she is shown falling on her behind, but Mama says Kaitlyn has the most potential because with her three thumbs she might be able to spin a Pirouette.
Speaking of Kaitlyn, Chickadee says the baby needs to go to the doctor to for her shots, and Alana says speaking of the doctor…Can I get my ears pierced?
All in all the family had a blast ice skating, and it was a great way for the family to spend holiday quality time together. It seems Mama tries very hard to find fun activities for the family to do together that also teaches them a lesson of some sort. They might not eat the healthiest food, but every episode the girl’s are doing some sort of activity or playing outside, so Mama should get more credit than the media gives her!
It is now the day of the last charity event, but before getting ready Mama and Alana have to shop for a Christmas present for Uncle Poodle in the “re-gifting closet”. June has a closet full of gifts that she has no use for herself, but makes great gifts for other people. Great way to save money! After search through zebra pictures, (What is with all the zebras???), clocks, and other trinkets; Mama decides on a bookend. Yes, just one! Mama is fabulous at re-gifting and says that the ultimate re-gift is re-gifting the same gift someone gave for Christmas on their birthday or vice-verse! Now it is time to get the final night of the drive over to a close, and everyone gets dressed up again. The charity event is
a huge success and they shattered their goal and raised over $15,000 in donations! Mama and family worked hard in decorating the house to make a huge display for all the people who came to support. All for charity that is very close to her heart. She added just a little bit of her fame to help draw a crowd to help bring in so many donations! This was very heart warming, and touching to see her try so hard to give back to a community that once helped her in her time of need. Mama June must have been for proud because it turned out to be HUGE a success! Congratulations!!!
The next morning the family takes truck load after truck load to Miss Wanda’s house who works for Wilco Luvs Kids, (a local charity organization that helps to give the needy families of Louisiana a great Christmas). Miss Wanda was also the special person who helped June have a wonderful Christmas for her family when she thought they would have nothing. June now helps other families and teaches her children a valuable life lesson. This year they will be able to help 129 families to be exact! June walks into the house and Miss Wanda’s dinning room is full of tons and tons of various toys for children that were collected during the fundraiser. There is still one more truck full that hasn’t even been unloaded yet. It warms June’s heart to be able to give back to the community because she was there once, and she doesn’t want to see the same thing happen to other families! It warms our hearts too, June!!
“It looked like a mini department store” Mama June
It’s Christmas Eve and the family’s tradition is to open presents from each other, and then open presents from Santa on Christmas morning. This way it is not confusing which presents are from Mama and Sugar Bear and which are from Santa. My family used to do this tradition as well!
Alana receives hair bows from Mama, and she made sure to get her one that says drama queen! Pumpkin opens her gift next and it’s a big can of corn and pork chops which she was actually happy about receiving. Sugar bear opens his “hair head” from Alana, and calls it his dream girl and he can’t wait to run his fingers through her hair! (Score Alana!) Mama opens up her gift from Sugar Bear and it’s another deer similar the one he gave her for their anniversary. She isn’t happy with her gift, and she makes that known. During the on the couch interview Mama explains she never likes what Sugar Bear gives her, except for Alana because she loves her (AWWW!!). Pumpkin chimes in with her two cents as usual.
“She came outta your pa-dose, not his” Pumpkin
“It takes two to tango.” Mama June
“Mama ain’t no one give a shit about your sex life!” Pumpkin
Mama still hates the deer, but Sugar Bear loves it and puts it outside on the steps across from the other deer statue.
“U-N-G-R-E-A-T-F-U-L” Chubbs
Next everyone opens a special gift from Sugar Bear which are matching Cozy pajamas for everyone. These are special “One-piece footy” pajamas that have a flap in the back so you don’t have to pull your pants down to go to the bathroom! Classy!
Mama is once again unhappy because her 4x pajamas are to snug. She claims she is normally a 1x or 2x, and explains that the pajamas make her look like a giant tomato. Time for bed now, so Alana puts out cookies for Santa, and cheese balls for the reindeer (carrots???). Everyone goes to sleep and yells goodnight to one another.
“Goodnight Everyone”
“Christmas Morning”
At EXACTLY, 5:32 a.m. on Christmas morning Alana is the first to wake up, and she walks into the living room to see presents under the tree. She wakes up Pumpkin first and they go into the kitchen to see if Santa and crew at the snacks. Confirmed by a “dooty” from the reindeer on the floor, and a letter from Santa thanking them for the snacks they left for him and the reindeer’s. She quickly wakes everyone else up, so the unwrapping and fun can begin. Alana receives make up that she says she will practice on Uncle Poodle that night, who is there to share the holiday with his family. (Side note: June also does tremendous charity work for her brother, Uncle Poodle, who recently shared with the media that he is HIV positive.) Uncle Poodle opens up his amazing gift of one bookend. Now it’s time for the big family gift, and the girls gather around and rip the paper open to find a big flat screen TV!
“OH……MY…….GOD!!!!!!!!”-Alana
Now everyone goes outside for a Christmas family photo in the driveway. It is raining, and they are all standing or kneeling on hay. Of course there is a struggle to get everyone settled down, but the picture is finally taken and Nugget finishes the episode off with a “poopoo”!
Merry Honey Boo Boo Christmas!

I just LOVE this kind and caring family.
For everyone who says hateful things about them you know you are bullies. Bullies are more of a problem in America and you should take a look at yourselves. Thanks Joanna Jones for writng an honest article on this caring family!
